  12. announced an immediate price reduction of its DaynaPORT™ line of Macintosh
  13. Ethernet adapters and instituted a program that guarantees users complete
  14. compatibility of any DaynaPORT model with thick, thin or twisted-pair Ethernet
  15. media. The new low prices affect the company's full line of adapters for the
  16. Macintosh II family, SE, SE/30, LC and IIsi.

  18.    Effective immediately, the company’s full line of 10BASE-T Ethernet adapters
  19. are reduced from $399 to $299 U.S. suggested retail price. All other DaynaPORT
  20. models that support thin Ethernet and AUI connections are reduced from $399 to
  21. $329.

  23.    In addition, Dayna has instituted a program to guarantee the user’s investme
  24. in DaynaPORT adapters should they change their Ethernet cable system in the
  25. future. The program allows users to exchange a DaynaPORT adapter that supports
  26. one type of Ethernet media for an adapter supporting other media types, free of
  27. charge during the first year of ownership, or at a fee of $49 at any time
  28. thereafter.

  30.    “Macintosh Ethernet networks are moving rapidly away from thin-Ethernet to
  31. twisted-pair wiring. While other vendors have recently introduced higher-priced
  32. Ethernet adapters with all three 10BASE-T, thin-Ethernet and AUI connectors on
  33. one card, we think network managers would rather have a card with fewer
  34. connectors at a lower price,” said Dayna’s President and CEO Boyd T. Jones. “We
  35. want to support the move to twisted-pair wiring by offering the very lowest
  36. price we can on our 10BASE-T adapters through the distribution channel. For
  37. those network managers who need thick or thin Ethernet connections today but
  38. want to change to 10BASE-T tomorrow, we’ll guarantee their investment by
  39. swapping out any DaynaPORT card free of charge within the first year.”
